wildebeest Calvin Safaris – Ndutu calving season safari | 2026 & 2027

Safari Overview

Experience one of Africa’s most extraordinary wildlife events on a Wildebeest Calving Safari in Ndutu, where nature unfolds in its most raw and powerful form. This private Tanzania safari begins in Arusha and journeys through the country’s iconic landscapes, covering approximately 1,190 km over eight unforgettable days.

At the heart of the adventure lies the Ndutu region in the southern Serengeti, where from December to March, thousands of wildebeest gather on the fertile short-grass plains to give birth. This calving season transforms the landscape into a dramatic stage of new life, drawing predators and creating unmatched opportunities for close-up wildlife encounters—ideal for couples, photographers, and nature lovers seeking authentic safari moments.

To keep you close to the action, exclusive mobile camps are carefully positioned in Ndutu during this season, offering a perfect blend of comfort, intimacy, and immersion in the wild. Along the journey, you will also explore the breathtaking Ngorongoro Highlands and the endless plains of the Serengeti, with each stop thoughtfully selected for its charm, privacy, and warm Tanzanian hospitality.

Curated by Sana Wild Experience, this Ndutu calving season safari is more than a journey—it is a deeply personal experience that blends romance, adventure, and storytelling, designed for travelers who want to connect with the true rhythm of Tanzania’s wilderness.
