Detailed Day-by-Day Itinerary

DAY 1: Arrival in Arusha (55 km | 1 hr)

Your driver meets you at Kilimanjaro Airport and transfers you to River Trees Country Inn, a peaceful garden escape where the soundtrack of your journey begins—Kingfishers, Weavers, Mousebirds and Ibis often visible over your first evening drink. If time allows, a gentle stroll around the grounds provides your first chance to bird together in the warm African light.

DAY 2: Arusha National Park (Total 80 km | 2 hrs travel + 2–3 hrs walking + 3–4 hrs viewing)

After breakfast, travel to Arusha National Park for your first immersion in the forests and lakes beneath Mount Meru. The morning is spent on a guided nature walk through moss-draped rainforest alive with Turacos, Barbets, Sunbirds, Trogons and forest eagles. Lunch overlooking the Momella Lakes precedes a relaxed afternoon drive where Flamingos, Cranes, Waders, Cormorants and water raptors provide endless photographic opportunities before returning to Arusha for a quiet evening together.

DAY 3: Arusha to Tarangire (145 km | 3–3.5 hrs)

DAY 4: Tarangire Full Birding Day (5–6 hrs viewing)
