DAY 1: Arusha – Lake Manyara National Park

Your safari adventure begins with a pick-up from your hotel in Arusha, where you will meet your professional safari guide for a brief orientation before departing for Lake Manyara National Park. Enjoy a scenic drive of approximately 2.5 hours through the picturesque Tanzanian countryside, passing local villages and the dramatic landscapes of the Great Rift Valley Escarpment before arriving at the park.

After enjoying a picnic lunch, embark on your first exciting game drive in the beautiful Lake Manyara National Park. Nestled at the base of the Great Rift Valley, this compact yet diverse park is renowned for its lush groundwater forests, open grasslands, and the alkaline lake that attracts a remarkable variety of wildlife. Keep an eye out for lions that climb trees, which is a famous thing in this park. You will see them along with groups of elephants, hippos, giraffes, and zebras. Along the way, stop at one of the spectacular viewpoints overlooking the Ngorongoro Crater, where you can admire one of the world’s largest intact volcanic calderas and capture unforgettable photographs of this UNESCO World Heritage Site.
