ARUSHA NATONAL PARK
Arusha National Park lies in northern Tanzania, covering 53 square miles (137 square kilometers), small in size yet immense in wonder. To the east, Kilimanjaro National Park rises as its majestic sister, and many travelers pair visits to both, drawn to mountain vistas and sweeping landscapes.
At the heart of the park stands Mount Meru, Tanzania’s second-highest peak at 14,968 feet (4,562 meters), a dormant stratovolcano whose summit often greets Kilimanjaro across the horizon.
The park unfolds in three distinct regions: the western Meru Crater, feeding the Jekukumia River; the southeastern Ngurdoto Crater, with its vibrant grasslands; and the northeastern Momella Lakes, alive with birds feeding on lush algae.
The forests at Meru’s base shelter abundant wildlife, while over 400 bird species flit through the canopy, offering moments of quiet awe and shared discovery—a Tanzanian paradise for couples seeking adventure, beauty, and connection with nature
