Serengeti Safari Holidays offer a short yet rewarding journey through some of the most iconic wildlife destinations in Tanzania. Although the safari lasts only five days, the itinerary is thoughtfully designed to combine adventure, comfort, and unforgettable wildlife encounters.
Covering approximately 820 km over roughly 20 hours of scenic travel, the journey showcases Tanzania’s diverse landscapes. From the elephant-filled plains of Tarangire National Park to the remarkable wildlife sanctuary of Ngorongoro Crater, the adventure continues into the vast savannahs of Serengeti National Park.
Guided by the passionate team at Sana Wild Experience, travellers enjoy immersive game drives, beautiful scenery, and comfortable lodges that offer both authenticity and relaxation throughout the journey.
DAY 1: Arusha → Tarangire National Park → Karatu (Arusha → Tarangire → Karatu | 210 km, 5 hrs)
Your adventure begins as you arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport, welcomed warmly by your private driver–guide. Begin your safari journey toward Tarangire National Park, a dramatic landscape of towering baobabs, roaming elephants, and predator-rich plains.
Enjoy a scenic game drive through the heart of the park, watching for lions on termite mounds, leopards resting in acacia branches, and cheetahs scanning the horizon. A picnic lunch awaits at Matete Picnic Site before you continue toward the highlands.
Arrive in Karatu — a peaceful town known as the “Safari Junction” — and settle into your charming lodge for a restful evening.

DAY 2: Ngorongoro Crater → Serengeti National Park (Karatu → Ngorongoro → Serengeti | 170 km, 5 hrs)
After breakfast, descend 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater — a breathtaking natural amphitheater sheltering over 30,000 animals. Experience unforgettable wildlife moments, from black rhinos and large buffalo herds to lions patrolling the open grasslands.
After a crater-floor picnic, ascend the rim and continue with an en-route game drive toward the Serengeti. As the landscape opens into vast golden plains, you enter one of Africa’s greatest wildernesses — the iconic Serengeti.

DAY 3: Full Day in Serengeti National Park (Game Drive | ~150 km, Full Day)
Wake before sunrise to embrace Serengeti’s early-morning magic. With a packed lunch, spend the day exploring predator-rich valleys, open plains, and wildlife corridors home to lions, cheetahs, leopards, hyenas, and grazing herds that stretch to the horizon.
This full-day adventure gives UK adventure couples the authentic, untamed experience they seek — from raw predator encounters to hidden corners of the park known only to seasoned guides.
Return to camp for a warm shower, a candle-lit dinner, and a peaceful night under the Serengeti stars.

DAY 4: Serengeti → Ngorongoro Conservation Area → Karatu (Serengeti → NCAA → Karatu | 200 km, 5 hrs)
After breakfast, enjoy a final morning game drive in the Serengeti before beginning your journey back toward Karatu with packed lunch onboard.
Travel through the dramatic Ngorongoro Conservation Area, passing rugged crater highlands and wildlife-rich corridors — offering one more chance to spot spectacular scenes. Experience the classic “African massage” from the bumpy tracks as you approach the lush Karatu highlands for a relaxed evening.

DAY 5: Karatu → Arusha → Kilimanjaro Airport (Karatu → Arusha → JRO | 60 km, 2 hrs)
Enjoy your final breakfast in the highlands before your scenic return to Arusha and onward to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your departure.
